Gonzales Pioneer Village Living History Center, affectionately referred to as “the Village” is
governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. A part-time Manager is the only paid employee.
All scheduled tours and special events are attended by costumed docents and other volunteers
who not only give information about the buildings, but demonstrate numerous skills and crafts
necessary for the pioneer lifestyle to be successful.
We offer classes for some skills such as Toothbrush Rag Rug Making, Dutch Oven Cooking, Weaving and others at different times.
We accept volunteers gladly. There are many jobs to do up here and we always need help. Our volunteers perform just about every task that gets done from tour docents, demonstrators, yard workers, house cleaners, etc.

Call for Information
Group tours are available from Tuesday through Saturday.
We charge $3.50 per person and the tour is approximately 1½ hours in length.
Costumed docents share information about the buildings and demonstrate various
skills. These tours should be scheduled at least two weeks prior to your visit.
We can also arrange for you to visit the Old Jail Museum or Memorial Museum on
the day of your visit to Gonzales Pioneer Village. The group areas at
Independence Park can also be reserved for your group’s brown bag lunch.
